Lightning Point Group Campground
From Los Angeles/Valley
-Take the 134 to the 2N
-Take the 2N to the 210E (also 2N)
-Exit 210 @ Angeles Crest Highway (still the 2N)
-From here the trip is 33.5 miles (Set your Tripometer to 0), and should take about 1hour.
-Take Angeles Crest Highway North (into the mountains)
-At 9.3 mi, TURN L on Angeles Forest Road (about 20 minutes elapsed time)
-At 13.1 mi, you will pass Big Tujunga Road
-At 16.6 mi, you will pass Hidden Springs Cafe
-At 19 mi, you will pass Monte Cristo Campground (about 30 minutes elapsed time)
-At 23.9 mi, TURN L on Highway N3. This turn is easy to miss. It will be at the top of a rise. Keep an eye open for it.
-Follow this road. It is paved 98% of the way.
-At 30.1 mi, there will be a fork in the road. TURN L, follow the dirt road. To the right is the route to the prison work camp. (We don't suggest going there.)
-At 30.5 mi, the pavement begins again.
-At 32.7 mi, you will pass a radio tower. You're almost there!
-At 33.2 mi, you come to a T intersection. TURN L (Turning R, you will end up in Messenger Flats Campground after 1 mi of dirt road.)
-At 33.5 mi, you reach Lightning Point Campground. The Campground lies beyond the gate, do not take the right fork.

Los Angeles/Valley - Alt Directions
1. Drive to La Canada via the I-210 (Foothill Freeway) to State Highway 2 (Angeles Crest Highway) off ramp, exit the freeway and turn north uphill towards the mountains.
2. Stay on State Highway 2 9 miles to the Angeles Forest Highway (County N-3), turn left headed towards Palmdale.
3. Proceed north 14.5 miles to Mill Creek Summit to where the Santa Clara Divide Road (3N17) turns left going north- turn left.
4. Proceed along the ridge west 9 miles to where the pavement ends. The second time turn left following the pavement south another ¾ mile on road 3N32 to the white gate, the entrance to Lighnting Point Group Campground.
High Desert
1. Exit off State 14 (Antelope Valley Freeway) at the Angeles Forest Highway exit (about 5 miles south of Palmdale).
2. From Palmdale turn right onto Sierra Highway,
3. From Canyon Country turn left onto Sierra Highway.
4. Immediately turn south off Sierra Highway onto the Angeles Forest Highway (County N-3) and go uphill to Mill Creek Summit 10 miles.
5. At Mill Creek Summit where the Santa Clara Divide Road (3N17) turns right going north- turn right.
6. Proceed along the ridge west 9 miles to where the pavement ends the second time turn left following the pavement south another ¾ mile on road 3N32 to the white gate, the entrance to Lighnting Point Group Campground.
